CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R 97-�
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE RENTAL
OF UNIFORMS FOR ALL DESIGNATED PERSONNEL FROM
NATIONAL UNIFORM SERVICE UTILIZING THE BROWARD
COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE PURCHASING
GROUP BID NUMBER 3399, FOR AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $27,000 ANNUALLY; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, The City of Tamarac must provide all designated personnel with
uniforms as stipulated in the Federation of Public Employees Contract, Article 30.1; and
WHEREAS, The City of Hollywood awarded Bid #3399 on behalf of the Broward
Governmental Cooperative Purchasing Group, to National Uniform Service; and
WHEREAS, National Uniform Service has offered to extend the same prices and
conditions set forth in the Broward Governmental Cooperative Bid to the City of Tamarac;
and
WHEREAS, City Code Section 6-154 allows the Purchasing and Contracts Manager
the authority to join with other units of government in cooperative purchasing when the best
interest of the City would be served; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing and Contracts Manager has recommended that the City
Commission approve award to National Uniform Service of Opa Locka, FL. for a (2) year
contract with options to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interst of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to authorize the rental
of uniforms from National Uniform Service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTIQN 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.

SECTION 2: The rental of uniforms for all designated employees IS HEREBY
APPROVED to be rented from National Uniform Service in accordance with the terms and
conditions of the Broward Cooperative Purchasing Group Bid #3399, attached as Exhibit
A.
SECTION 3: Funding for this rental is available from various accounts under
object code 476 entitled "Uniforms and Accessories."
SECTION 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AN
AGRtEMENT BETWEEN NATIONAL UNIFORM SERVICE AND
THE.CITY OF HOLLYWOOD FOR UNIFORM RENTAL AND
LAUNDRY SERVICE FOR AN ESTIMATED ANNUAL AMOUNT
OF $39,754.00.
WHEREAS, a work Uniform Rental and Laundry Service agreement;
is required for approximately two hundred --six (206) employees City-
wide; and
WHEREAS, .the Cities of Margate, Lauderhill, Deerfield Beach,
Hallandale, Sunrise, Miramar, and the Town of Davie agreed to:
participate with the City of Hollywood in a Co-operative Bid for
this service;`and
WHEREAS,;twelve (12) Invitations To Bid were mailed on August
14, 1996, and ithe bid was legally advertised on August 26, 19�6, in
accordance with the City's Purchasing Ordinance, Section
38.42(A)(1); and
WHEREAS, -Co --operative Bid number 3399, opened at 3;00 P.M. on:
September 6, 1996, resulted in responses from four (4) bidders: •'

WHEREAS, I the bid submitted by G&K Services responded only to
agencies requiring once weekly service and contained no bid for
twice weekly service as required by the City of Hollywood; And
WHEREAS, the amounts lasted pertain orily to the City of
Hollywood requirements; and
WHEREAS, National Uniform Service currently provides
satisfactory uniform rental, service to the City of Deerfield Beach;

WHEREAS, uniform samples submitted by National Uniform Service
satisfactorily meet the requirements of our bid; and
WHEREAS, after all Bids received were evaluated, the public
utilities Director, the Director of Public Works, the General.
Manager of Golf Operations, and the Director of purchasing and,
Materials Management have recommended that the City Commission
approve award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, National
Uniform Service of Opa Locka, Florida, for a. two (2) year contract:
with options to renew for two (2) additional one (1)• year periods',
for an estimated annual amount of $39,754-00 based on firm unit
prices; and
WHEREAS, funding has been appropriated and exists in various -
account numbers City-wide;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION Or THE
CITY OF HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA:
That it hereby approves and authorizes the
execution, by the appropriate City Officials, of an agreement
embodying the terms and conditions approved by the City Commission
this date between National Uniform Service and the City of
Hollywood, in a form acceptable to the City Manager and approved as
to form and legality by the City Attorney.
