CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-97-,[_
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING AND
COMMEMORATING THE WEEK OF APRIL 21, 1997
AS "PROFESSIONAL SECRETARIES WEEK';
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is proud to pause on April 23, 1997 to
recognize those who serve as professional secretaries in our organization; and
WHEREAS, according to the Professional Secretaries International, there are
approximately four million individuals working as secretaries in the United States and
Canada; and
WHEREAS, as the professional secretary ranks increase, so do the range of
their responsibilities in the United States and Canada; and
WHEREAS, today's professional secretary, executive secretary, and executive
assistant and all other staff who acts in this capacity, operates personal computers,
trains and supervises other employees, makes purchasing decisions as well as a
multitude of other decisions involving the life of the organization and provides advice on
many subjects; and
WHEREAS, their contributions are as many and varied as they are; and

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this .30 day of hP41L. , 1997.
