CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-97-q, it
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING A WAIVER TO THE
SIGN CODE ORDINANCE REQUESTED BY MORTON ROSS
OF MCNEILL SIGNS FOR TAMARAC SQUARE LOCATED
AT 5201-5231 N. STATE ROAD 7 FOR A DIRECTORY SIGN
12 FEET HIGH, 68 SQUARE FEET IN SIZE, NO LESS THAN
10 FEET FROM THE RIGHT OF WAY, WITH THE NAME OF
THE COMPLEX IN HELVETICA LETTERING 9 INCHES
HIGH AND TENANTS' NAMES 7 INCHES HIGH, THE
BUILDING NAME TO BE 5.6 SQUARE FEET IN SIZE, IN
RED AND WHITE LETTERING WITH RED AND WHITE
BACKGROUND, PROVIDING FOR CONDITIONS OF
APPROVAL; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Morton Ross of McNeill Signs has requested a waiver from Code
Chapter 18 governing signs for a directory sign for Tamarac Square located at 5201-5231
N. State Road 7, 12 feet high, 68 square feet in size, no less than 10 feet from the right of
way, with the name of the complex in letters 9 inches high and tenants' names in letters
7 inches high, the building name to be 5.6 square feet in size, in red and white lettering
with red and white background; and
WHEREAS, the Interim Building Official, reviewed said waiver and recommends
approval for the directory sign 12 feet high, 68 square feet in size, no less than 10 feet from
the right of way, with the name of the complex in letters 9 inches high and tenants' names
in letters 7 inches high, the building name to be 5.6 square feet in size, in red and white
lettering with red and white background; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida has the authority
pursuant to the Code Section 18-42 to grant waivers; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to grant this waiver.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the Resolution.
SECTION • That the waiver to the Sign Code Chapter 18 requested by Morton
Ross of McNeill Signs for Tamarac Square for a directory sign 12 feet high, 68 square feet
in size, no less than 10 feet from the right of way, with the name of the complex in
Helvetica lettering 9 inches high and tenants' names 7 inches high, the building name to
be 5.6 square feet in size, in red and white lettering with red and white background; is
HEREBY APPROVED.
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
E� CTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage

and adoption. PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 3 day of
