CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-91- /.5/
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
REQUESTING GRANT FUNDING FROM THE EMERGENCY
MEDICAL SERVICES COUNTY AWARD MONIES-1991/92
FOR COMMUNITY SAFETY AND INJURY PREVENTION
EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000.00 AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Broward County has received $500,000.00 from
the State Emergency Medical Services Trust Fund monies. The
funds have been generated by traffic fine surcharges, and
are intended for use in improving and expanding the pre
hospital EMS system in our county; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac fully supports the
improvement in the existing quality of prehospital EMS
activities, services and positive impact on patient
mortality and morbidity; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac fully supports the
improvement and expansion of emergency medical services on a
county -wide basis with no negative impact on the existing
system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has prepared a grant
application for the purchase of community safety and injury
prevention program:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION l s That the City Council. if Ville City of
Tamar2r, requests the City Manager AubmiL a grant
application requesting $25,000.00 in financial assistance
from the Emergency Medical Service County Award monies
-- 1991/92 for the purchase of a community safety and
injury prevention program.
SECTION 2 : That the City of Tamarac fully
supports the improvement and expansion of emergency
medical services on a county -wide basis with no
negative impact on the existing system.
SECTION 3 s This Resolution shall be in full
force and effect immediately after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
