CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R--9/ -1 '/
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE OF
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE
BEAUTIFICATION OF THE NOB HILL ROAD MEDIAN STRIP
FROM COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD TO THE 6000 BLOCK OF
NOB HILL ROAD IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000.00; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has prepared a grant
application for the beautification of the Nob Hill Road
Median Strip from Commercial Boulevard to the 6000 block of
Nob Hill Road under the Florida Highway Beautification
Program; and
WHEREAS, it is a requirement of the program that this
Resolution be adopted and become an official part of the
application; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager is authorized to submit an
application requesting $30,000.00 in financial assistance
from the Florida Department of Transportation Program for the
beautification of the Nob Hill Road Median Strip from Commer-
cial Boulevard to the 6000 block of Nob Hill Road; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is in a fiscally and
legally responsible position to satisfactorily develop,
operate and maintain the project in accordance with the
program requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Assistant City Manager, Dina M. McDermott
is designated as the official liaison agent and City Manager
John P. Kelly is authorized to accept the grant and execute
all appropriate documents and contracts for the purpose of
administering the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION is That all whereas covenants are part of and
herein included in this Resolution.

SECTION 2: That the administration of the City of
Tamarac is hereby authorized to apply for financial
assistance in the amount of $30,000.00 from the State of
Florida Department of Transportation for the beautification
of the Nob Hill Road median strip from Commercial Boulevard
to the 6000 block of Nob Hill Road.
SECTION 3 This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.

MOB HILL ROAD BEAUIFICATION GRANT
The City of Tamarac has a long-standing comment to meintein a baMnce be~
sn*onmwvW and rewos oornervdbian protection. Our major goal is the oo musim
of beaffkabon of the City through landeaping public modim and *to -of -way.
Tamarac residents are deflated and fully support the City's mnmitment to the
Pon vation of the environment and our on -going beaudliation project.

The project was developed to nnprove the aeethetic quality of the roadway and entry
corridor to our newly owwowted Public Service Admk istadve Complex on Nob mill
Road. Mainterwnce, odor and water conservation on the primary ooraidsrations in the
project and this also indudes the selection of plant matoWs. Tamsrac has made a
commitment to xw%We principals and planting. AN plant materials will be xer%=;* in
nature.
The City will phnt numerous varieties of native shrubs, tees and low ground cover on
city Property G*Mnt to the right-d-V ay.
If this project reoWm grant fundng from the Florida NgFwvay BnW#icadm CouncN, the
City of Tamsrac will be responsible for the maintenance. The City wN also promote
xeriscape principals to area residents, using this Prgect as a modal planting.
