CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-91- .3 7
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
SUPPORTING LOCATION OF A MAJOR LEAGUE BASE-
BALL FRANCHISE IN SOUTH FLORIDA; AND PROVID-
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the existence of Major League Baseball in
Florida would be a significant benefit to our community and
South Florida as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the existence of Major League Baseball would
provide an additional recreational facility that would benefit
our citizens and attract business and industry to South
Florida; and
WHEREAS, the existence of Major League Baseball would
provide a major economic benefit to our community and all of
South Florida; and
WHEREAS, major sports franchises are a means of uniting
and binding a community; and
WHEREAS, Major League Baseball has expressed a strong
interest in locating a Major League Baseball franchise at Joe
Robbie Stadium.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of
Tamarac, Florida, is hereby endorsing and supporting the
location of a major league baseball franchise in South Florida
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption. '0-
