R-'99- 16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC RELATING TO NORTHWEST 64TH AVENUE; REQUESTING THAT THE BROWARD COUNTY COMMISSION DELETE NORTH- WEST 64TH AVENUE FROM THE BROWARD COUNTY TRAFFICWAYS PLAN; URGING THE BROWARD COUNTY COMMISSION TO REDUCE THE TRAFFICWAYS RIGHT OF WAY FOR NORTHWEST 64TH AVENUE FROM 106 FEET TO 80 FEET IN THE AREA FROM COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD TO NORTHWEST 44 STREET AND URGING THAT THE ROAD BE DESIGNATED AS TWO LANES DIVIDED BY A MEDIAN; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Northwest 64 Avenue from Commercial Boulevard south to Northwest 44th Street is currently designated on the Broward County Trafficways Plan as requiring 106 feet of right of way and is projected to be four (4) lanes; and WHEREAS, the City Council of concerned about the potential in highway on the residents living Northwest 64th Avenue; and the City of Tamarac is ct of a four (4) Lane in the areas adjacent to WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to make the Broward County Commission aware of the concern felt within the City of Tamarac concerning the potential impact of Northwest 64th Avenue; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the City Council hereby urges that the Broward County Commission initiate a Trafficways Amendment to delete Northwest 64th Avenue from Commercial Boulevard to Northwest 44th Street from the Broward County Trafficways Plan. As an alternative, reduce the right-of-way corridor for Northwest 64th Avenue from 106 feet to 80 feet in the MS Temp. Further, the City Council urges that Northwest 64th Avenue be reflected on the Broward County Trafficways Plan as a two lane road divided by a median.
