CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R--89--
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH
SCHLUMBERGER INDUSTRIES, INC./NEPTUNE WATER
DIVISION; TO PURCHASE ONE (1) 8--INCH FIRE FLOW
METER FOR TUW PROJECT 89-17, TREEHOUSE/QUAIL OAKS;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the appropriate City Officials
are hereby authorized to execute an Agreement with
Schlumberger Industries, Inc./Neptune Water Division;
to furnish one (1) 8--inch fire flow service meter and
all appurtenances for TUW Project 89-17,
Treehouse/Quail Oaks, in the amount of $5,750.00, a
copy of said agreement being attached hereto as
"Exhibit 1".
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effec-
tive upon adoption. lilt

AND
SCHLUMBERGER INDUSTRIES, INC ./NEPTUNE WATER DIVISION
RELATING TO THE PURCHASE
NEPTUNE PROTECTUS III
8" FIRE FLOW SERVICE METER
'. This is an Agreement between the City of Tamarac, a
Florida municipal corporation ("City"), and Schlumberger
Industries, Incorporated/Neptune Water Division, an Alabama
corporation, its successors and assigns.
W I T N E S S E T H•
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has determined that it must
purchase one (1) eight inch (8") fire flow service meter and
all appurtences, Neptune Protectus III, to be used at
Treehouse/Quail Oaks, a private potable water system,
supplied by the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS the eight inch (8") fire flow service meter will
• enhance the quantity of potable water and fire protection to
Treehouse/Quail Oaks, a privately owned and operated potable
water system supplied by the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has bid this eight inch (8")
fire flow service meter on two (2) occasions and both times
Schlumberger Industries, Inc. was the low bidder and both
times, due to bid irregularities, the bids were rejected; and
WHEREAS, Section 9-37(4) of the City of Tamarac Code of
Ordinances entitled: "Rejection of Bids", reads in part as
follows: "...in the event that a bid or part of a bid is
rejected, the Council may authorize negotiation of a price
with the low bidder at no substantial modification of the bid
specifications".
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual terms and
conditions, promises, covenants and payment hereinafter set
forth, "City" and Schlumberger Industries, Inc./Neptune Water
Division agree as follows:
t 1. That the above recitals are incorporated herein and

are made a part of this Agreement.
2. Schlumberger Industries, Inc./Neptune Water Division
agrees to provide the "City" with an eight inch (8")
fire flow service meter, Neptune Protectus III, as
specified in the bidding documents, at a negotiated
price of five thousand seven hundred fifty ($5,750)
dollars delivered to the City of Tamarac as specified
in the original bid.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have made and
executed this Agreement on the respective dates under each
signature. The City of Tamarac signing by and through its
Mayor, authorized to execute same by City Council action on
the ; "day of 19 , and Schlumberger
Industries, Inc./Neptun& Water Division signing by and
through its representative duly authorized to execute same.
