CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R--89 v2 _96 ,
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDED ARTICLES 3,
7, AND 15 AND ADDING ARTICLES 48 AND 49
TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE INTERNATIONAL
ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS (IAFF), LOCAL
3080; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac and the International Association of
Firefighters (IAFF), Local 3080, are desirous of amending Articles 3, 7
and 15 and adding Articles 48 and 49 to that Agreement dated October 26,
1988 for the period October 1, 1989, through September 30, 1991.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That amended Articles 3, 7, and 15 and added Articles 48
and 49 of that certain agreement dated October 26, 1988, are hereby
approved, copies of which are attached hereto.
SECTION 2: All other provisions of the contract remain the same.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.

ARTICLE 7
WAGES
7.1 All employees shall receive a four point seven (4.7%) wage
increase retroactive to October 1, 1989 for Fiscal Year
• 1989/1990.
7.2 Fiscal Year 1990/1991 -- all employees shall receive a minimum of
three -percent (3%) wage increase. The actual amount to be agreed
upon in workshops between the Union and the City. Workshops to
begin at least sixty days (60) prior to budget submission for the
Fiscal Year 1990/1991 contract.
7.3 When the amount of wage increase is agreed upon, the Union will
provide the City with calculations for the hourly wages in the
Firefighter Apprenticeship Program and that Article will be
modified to reflect the new hourly wages.

ARTICLE 15
MEDICAL COVERAGE PROGRAM
15.1 The City and the IAFF have entered into an agreement to allow
the IAFF to return to the City's health insurance coverage from
November 1, 1989 to midnight, September 30, 1990.
15.2 The City offers Humana Health Care to its employees. The offer
contains an HMO and an indemnity Plan.
15.3 The City has agreed to pay the following monthly rates:

49.2 For Fiscal Year 1989/1990 only, any firefighter who has
completed the necessary time on-the-job will receive an up-
grade in pay status on his anniversary date, without regard
to educational requirements. For Fiscal Year 1990/1991 and
thereafter, a firefighter must meet all the requirements of
0 the higher pay status to be upgraded.
49.3 Whenever a firefighter has met all the educational require -
meets and time in grade, he/she shall request the Fire Chief
to notify the City and upgrade his/her pay status.
49.4 Courses listed shall be college credit with a passing grade.
In the event that a listed course is not offered by a local
college, the Union and the Fire Chief will meet and decide
on acceptable substitutions.
49.5 Requirements are cumulative and in order to reach Journeyman
firefighter level, a firefighter must complete all listed
classes or agreed upon substitutions.
