RESOLUTION NO. R-89 -,,,2?.Z
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
IN SUPPORT OF THE BROWARD COUNTY BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PLACING THE QUESTION OF
A LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX ON THE BALLOT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida recognizes the need to provide sufficient infra-
structure to maintain the quality of life and ensure public
health and safety for those who live and work in the City of
Tamarac and Broward County; and
WHEREAS, additional review sources will be necessary to
complete the long term infrastructure needs of Broward
County; and
WHEREAS, a local option sales tax would provide the
revenue necessary to address the infrastructure needs of
Broward municipalities and the county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac
requests that the local option sales tax, which is necessary
to fund the infrastructure needs of Broward County and all of
its municipalities, should be placed on the ballot of the
next county -wide election.
SECTION 2: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
provide true copies of this resolution to the Board of County
Commissioners of Broward County, the chairman of the Broward
County Blue Ribbon Tax Committee, the Broward League of
Cities and each of the twenty --eight municipalities in Broward
County.

SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
