RESOLUTION NO. R-89 -,_6U3
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
AUTHORIZING BROWARD COUNTY THROUGH ITS
BROWARD COUNTY TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DIVISION
TO REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT FROM 30 MPH TO 25
MPH ON CERTAIN RESIDENTIAL STREETS LOCATED
WITHIN THE SPRINGLAKE VILLA SUBDIVISION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, local governments are authorized by Section
316.008, Florida statutes (1985), to regulate traffic within
their jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, Broward County through its Traffic Engineering
Division performs certain traffic engineering functions for
the City of Tamarac pursuant to a written traffic engineering
agreement between the City and the County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac wishes to have the speed
limit reduced from 30 MPH to 25 MPH on the residential
streets located within the Springlake Villa subdivision;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Broward County, through its Traffic
Engineering Division, is authorized to reduce the speed limit
of 30 MPH to 25 MPH on those certain residential streets
located within the Springlake Villa subdivision, and as
further indicated on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incor-
porated herein.

SECTION 2: That anyone who fails to obey these traffic
signs at the above designated locations shall be subject to
the appropriate penalties as prescribed by State law.
SECTION 3 : This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
