CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-89- —5110
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
TURBITROL COMPANY PERTAINING TO THE PURCHASE OF
A MAGNETIC TAPE SYSTEM AND COLORGRAPHIC
TERMINAL FOR THE CITY'S TELEMETERING SYSTEM;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the appropriate City officials are hereby
authorized to execute an Agreement with the Turbitrol Company
pertaining to the purchase of a magnetic tape system at a cost of
$16,656.00, and a colorgraphic terminal for the City's
telemetering system at a cost of $7,796.00, for a total cost of
$24,452.00, a copy of said agreement being attached hereto as
"Exhibit I".
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective upon
adoption. -at,

AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE
CITY OF TAMARAC
AND
THE TURBITROL COMPANY
RELATING TO THE PURCHASE OF
ONE STREAMING TAPE DRIVE AND
ONE (1) CONTROLLING COLOR MONITOR UNIT
FOR THE CITY TELEMETERING SYSTEM
This is an Agreement between the City of Tamarac, a
Florida Municipal Corporation, hereinafter known as "City",
and The Turbitrol Company, a Florida corporation, hereinafter
known as "Turbitrol", its successors and assigns.
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has determined that it must
Purchase a Streaming Tape Drive, permanent data aquisition
and storage unit as an additament to the extant "Floppy"
unit; to safely and permanently acquire and store all system
data; and,
• WHEREAS, the City seeks an additional Controlling Color
Monitor Unit to assure proper and consistant control of the
Water Treatment and Pumping Station System in the event of
current unit failure with concomitant loss of data input and
control; and,
WHEREAS, these above noted items are of a style, type
and function which must be compatible with the proprietary
equipment currently installed and in use at the City
facilities and, further, be warrantable, repairable and
replaceable with like materiel to insure this compatibility;
and,
WHEREAS, Section 9-39 of the City of Tamarac Code of
Ordinances requires that sole source purchases in an amount
I� over two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars be the subject of 4
formal written contract approved by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual terms and
conditions, promises, covenants and payment hereinafter set
forth "City" and "Turbitrol", agree as follows:
1. The above recitals are incorporated herein and are
made a part of this Agreement.
2. That "Turbitrol" agrees to provide and the "City" to
purchase:
a) A DEC TSV05 Magnetic Tape System to include one
. (1) year warranty, start-up, and training for a
price of: sixteen thousand, six hundred and
fifty six ($16,656.00) dollars.
b) A Turbitrol 3508, 19" Colorgraphic Terminal with
installation and one (1) year warranty for a
price of: seven thousand, seven hundred and
ninty six ($7,796.00) dollars ... for a total
price of: twenty four thousand, four hundred
fifty two ($24,452.00) dollars.
3. That the above noted price shall include delivery of
the material to the Utility Site at 7803 Northwest
61st Street, in Tamarac.
4. The "City" and "Turbitrol", agree that the above
quoted price shall include on site maintenance of
the noted equipment.
IN WITNESS whereof, the parties hereto have made and
executed this Agreement on the respective dates under each
signature. The City of Tamarac signing by and through its
Mayor, authorized to execute same by City Council action on
the 6 day of _ T 19 82_ , and The Turbitrol
Company signing by and through its representative duly
authorized to execute same.
