RESOLUTION NO. R-89- 5®ZI
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC DECLARING
ITS ENDORSEMENT FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A
RESTRICTED ZONE NORTH OF PORT EVERGLADES
INLET; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac recognizes that the reefs
offshore in Broward County are important environmental and
recreational resources; and
WHEREAS, the potential damage to offshore reefs by the
anchoring of ships north of Port Everglades Inlet can be
minimized by the establishment of a restricted zone north of
Port Everglades Inlet;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City of Tamarac strongly endorses
and offers to support the establishment of a restricted zone
north of Port Everglades Inlet the purpose of which would be
to prohibit anchoring ships in the area which would result in
damage to the reefs.
SECTION 2: That the appropriate governmental agencies
are urged to take the steps necessary to establish a
restricted zone within the area described on Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof.

SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
