RESOLUTION NO. R-89--6-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC RELATING
TO N.W. 64TH AVENUE; PROVIDING THAT IN CON-
SIDERATION OF THE BROWARD COUNTY PLANNING
COUNCIL'S APPROVAL OF THE CITY'S REQUEST TO
REMOVE A PORTION OF N.W. 64TH AVENUE FROM THE
BROWARD COUNTY TRAFFICWAYS PLAN, THE CITY
COUNCIL ACKNOWLEDGES ITS INTENTION THAT IT
WILL NOT NOW, NOR IN THE FUTURE, VACATE ANY
PORTION OF THE EXISTING ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR
N.W. 64TH AVENUE BETWEEN COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD
AND 44TH STREET, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS on February 23, 1989 the Broward County Planning
Council approved for recommendation to the Broward County
Commission, the City of Tamarac's and the City of
Lauderhill's request to delete from the Broward County
Trafficways Plan, that portion of N.W. 64th Avenue between
Commercial Boulevard and 44th Street; and
WHEREAS, as a condition of approval of the City's
request, the Broward County Planning Council has asked the
City of Tamarac to adopt a resolution expressing the City's
intention not to vacate the existing right of way dedication
for N.W. 64th Avenue between Commercial Boulevard and 44th
Street; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Tamarac, including
the members of the Woodlands Homeowners Association, have
endorsed the deletion from the Broward County Trafficways
Plan of the appropriate segment of N.W. 64th Avenue so that
the road will be built as two lanes and there will be a
sufficient area for a proper buffer of the corridor; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac has
determined that adoption of this Resolution is in the public
interest;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 : That the City of Tamarac hereby acknow-
ledges that it is the express intention of the City to
preserve the existing dedicated right-of-way for N.W. 64th
Avenue between Commercial Boulevard and 44th Street and that
the City does not now intend, nor intend in the future, to
vacate any portion of said right--of-way.
SECTION 2 : That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
forward certified copies of this Resolution to the Chairman
of the Broward County Commission, Chairman of the Broward
County Planning Council and the Mayor and Council of the City
of Lauderhill..
SECTION 3 : This resolution shall be effective immedi-
ately upon its passage.
