CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-88- g�
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A PROPOSED
CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT CREATING
SECTIONS 11 AND 12 OF ARTICLE IV OF THE
FLORIDA CONSTITUTION, PROVIDING FOR THE
CREATION OF A DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS
AFFAIRS AND A DEPARTMENT OF ELDERLY
AFFAIRS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac has
determined and believe that it is in the best interest of the
people of the State of Florida that a proposed amendment to
the Florida Constitution creating a Department of Veterans
Affairs and a Department of Elderly Affairs be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby endorses and strongly
advocates the passage of the proposed constitutional amend-
ment creating the Department of Veterans Affairs and the
Department of Elderly Affairs and does strongly urge the
voters of the State of Florida and its legislative
representatives to support this proposed amendment which will
appear as Proposal Number 9 on the ballot for the general
election to be held November 8, 1988.
SECTION 2: It is hereby directed that a copy of this
Resolution shall be forwarded to the Broward County Legisla-
tive Delegation and to all member cities of the Broward
League of Cities.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption. Tit,
