CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION N0. R-88-
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE TOUR OF THE AMERICA'S
BICYCLE EVENT, WHICH WILL BE HELD FEBRUARY 28,
1988, AND ENDORSING THIS EVENT TO ENCOURAGE THE
SPORT OF BICYCLE RACING IN THE UNITED STATES; AND

WHEREAS, the first major cycling event to be held in the
United States for cyclists from all over the world will be held in
the area of West Palm Beach to Miami area on February 28, 1988; and
WHEREAS, this event has been named the "Tour of the Americas",
and is sponsored by the Tour of Florida Sports Promotions,
Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, the goals of the United States Professional Cycling
Federation is to bring the sport of bicycle racing to the United
States; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
desires to support this event in order to encourage the sport of
bicycle racing in the United States.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED'BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
S=TION_-1,:, That the City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida, hereby officially endorses the "Tour of Americas" cycling
event to be held on February 28, 1988, and encourages its citizens
to participate in the viewing of this cycling event.
SECTION__ : That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to send a copy of this Resolution to each municipality in
Broward County.
SECTION_3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately

upon adoption.
