A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC COMMEME-
RATING THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC'S 'INCORPORATION; AUTHORIZING THE
HOLDING OF A PARADE, STREET FAIR AND STREET
DANCE IN HONOR OF THE CITY'S ANNIVERSARY;
AUTHORIZING THAT A CONTEST BE HELD TO SELECT
A NEW LOGO FOR THE CITY OF TAMARAC; APPROVING
A CELEBRITY SOFTBALL GAME TO BE SPONSORED BY
THE TAMARAC KIWANIS CLUB; AUTHORIZING THE
ALLOCATION OF FIVE THOUSAND ($5,000.00)
DOLLARS FOR THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. _____
WHEREAS, 1988 is the 25th anniversary of the incorpora-
tion of the City of Tamarac, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and citizens of the City of
Tamarac wish to acknowledge the City's anniversary by hosting
an appropriate anniversary celebration; and
WHEREAS, the 25th Anniversary Committee has determined
that this occasion be celebrated by the holding of a parade,
street dance, street fair, by changing the City logo and
other worthwhile events; and
WHEREAS, the 25th Anniversary Committee requests that
the City Council provide its authorization for the planned
events.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 : That the City Council approves the holding
of a parade to be held on Saturday, June 18, 1988 at 10:00
a.m. The parade route will be from N.W. 57th Street and N.W.
88th Avenue north 1-1/2 miles to the new City Hall at 7525
N.W. 88th Avenue.

SECTION 2 : The City Council further authorizes that a
street fair be held on N.W. 57th Street from 10:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 1988 and from 10:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 1988. Additionally, the City
Council authorizes that'a street dance beheld on N.W. 57th
Street on June 18, 1988 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
SECTION 3 : The City Council hereby authorizes the
holding of a contest open to all citizens and employees of
the City of Tamarac to create a new logo to be approved by
the City Council.. The winner will be announced at the street
dance on Saturday, June 18, 1988.
SECTION 4 The City Council authorizes a Celebrity
softball game to be held during the weekend of June 18--19,
1988 at the City of Tamarac Park on University Drive. Any
monies the Kiwanis Club receives from the concession will be
donated to the City Parks and Recreation Department.
SECTION 5 The City Council authorizes that five
thousand ($5,000) dollars be allocated to the 25th Anniver-
sary Committee to be spent for necessary expenses incurred as
result of the anniversary celebration. Said monies to be
transferred from the City General Contingency fund and to be
credited to appropriate accounts as determined by the Finance
Director.
SECTION 6 : All activities authorized by this resolu-
tion shall obtain such appropriate licenses, permits or
inspections as is required by the applicable City Codes,
State Statutes and South Florida Building Code. However, the
City Council waives all appropriate City fees required for
the activities outlined in this resolution.

SECTION 7 This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this__?_day of 1988.
