RESOLUTION NO. R-88-- ` L_
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL
ELECTION FOR MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DISTRICTS 2

WHEREAS, the General Election was held on March 8, 1988,
wherein the Electorate of the City of Tamarac was to choose one
(1) candidate for the Office of Mayor, one (1) candidate for
Council Representative from District 2, and one (1) candidate
for the Office of Council Representative from Distract 4; and
WHEREAS, the Broward County Canvassing Board has canvassed
the results of the machine voting and the absentee ballots and
has certified such results to the City Clerk of the City of
Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has reviewed the certification from
the County Canvassing Board and has presented her findings to
the City Council for a formal Certification and Declaration of
the Results.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
5.E_C-1,10 le The following are the Certified Results of the
votes received by candidates seeking the Office of Mayor at the
General Election held March 8, 1988:
NORMAN ABRAMOWITZ 6609
BERNARD "BERNIE" HART 3924
BERNARD NEWMAN 646
SYDNEY "SYDTI M. STEIN 2387
NORMAN ABRAMOWITZ, having received the highest number of votes
cast, is, therefore, declared to have been elected as Mayor of
the City of Tamarac for a term of two (2) years.

votes received by candidates seeking the Office of Council
Representative from District 2, at the General Election held
March 8, 1988:

JACK STELZER 5087
JACK STELZER, having received the highest number of votes cast,
is, therefore, declared to have been elected as Council
Representative from District 2 for a term of two (2) years.

votes received by candidates seeking the office of Council
Representative from District 4, at the General Election held
March 8, 1988:
HERMAN "LARRY" BENDER 7298
SAM LEVINE 4784
HERMAN "LARRY" BENDER, having received the highest number of
votes cast, is, therefore, declared to have been elected as
Council Representative from District 4 for a term of two (2)
years.
I41 That NORMAN ABRAMOWITZ, JACK STELZER, and
HERMAN "LARRY" BENDER shall take office in accordance with the
provisions of Section 2-4 of the Code of Ordinances.
CT1ON_5: This Resolution shall become effective immedi-
ately upon adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 15 day of MARCH, 1988.
