CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-88- ty
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC ADOPTED PURSUANT TO SECTION 3-5 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES AUTHORIZING THE
ISSUANCE OF A SPECIAL PERMIT TO DON CARTER'S
TAMARAC LANES FOR THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES FROM 8:30 AM TO 12:00 NOON ON THE
FOLLOWING SUNDAY MORNINGS: APRIL 24, MAY 1,
MAY 8, MAY 15, MAY 22, MAY 29, JUNE 5,
JUNE 12, AND JUNE 19TH; PROVIDING THAT THE
SPECIAL PERMIT IS CONTINGENT UPON THE
EXECUTION OF A HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT BY DON
CARTER'S TAMARAC LANES; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Don Carter's Tamarac Lanes will be hosting the
Florida Men's State Bowling Tournament over a ten weekend
period during the months of April, May and June of 1988; and
WHEREAS, Don Carter's Tamarac Lanes anticipates that
this State Bowling Tournament will bring as many as 15,000
visitors to the City during the period the Tournament will be
held; and
WHEREAS, in anticipation of the influx of visitors
generated by the Tournament, Don Carter's Tamarac Lanes has
requested a special permit authorizing Don Carter's Tamarac
Lanes to sell alcoholic beverages on Sundays during the
Bowling Tournament starting at 8:30 AM rather than the usual
opening time of 12:00 noon; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3-5 of the City of Tamarac
Code of Ordinances, the City Council may grant a special
permit extending the permissible hours for the sale of
alcoholic beverages,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 : That the City Council has considered Don
Carter's Tamarac Lanes request for an extention of the per-
missible hours within which it may sell alcoholic beverages

and has determined that the request is consistent with the
criteria necessary for the issuance of such special permit as
set out in Section 3-5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Tamarac.
SECTION 2 : That Don Carter's Tamarac Lanes extended
hours of operation, authorized under this special permit,
will be from 8:30 AM to 12:00 noon local time on the
following Sunday mornings: April 24, May 1, May 8, May 15,
May 22, May 29, June 5, June 12 and June 19.
SECTION 3 : That the issuance of this special permit
will be contingent upon the execution, of a hold harmless
agreement by Don. Carter's Tamarac Lanes holding the City
harmless from any claim, act, or cause of action. which may
arise as a result of the issuance of this special permit.
SECTION 4 This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
