CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-87-
A RESOLUTION RATIFYING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF TAMARAC AND FLORIDA ATLANTIC
UNIVERSITY PERTAINING TO INTERN SERVICES FOR
REVIEWING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ELEMENTS OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC-
TIVE.DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved an agreement between
the City of Tamarac and Florida Atlantic University at the
April 8th, 1987 Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, said agreement, attached hereto and made a part
hereof as Exhibit "A", is in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the execution of the Agreement between
the City of Tamarac and Florida Atlantic University,
previously approved by the City Council, is hereby ratified
in its entirety.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN
The City of Tamarac
for Placement of a Graduate Student Intern.
Florida Atlantic University operates an internship program
for graduate students in the Public: Administration Program. The
term-- and conditions which follow reflect the effort of the City
of Tamarac to obtain the skilled services of this graduate
student toward assisting in pursuing their goals and objectives,
and Florida Atlantic University to provide training and
experience for these graduate students.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The parties agree as f ol].owe:
1) Florida Atlantic University (hereinafter FAU) will
provide orie graduate student of appropriate background and
interest from the Master of Public Administration Program to the
City of Tamarac (hereinafter the City).
2) The student will be assigned to the City for sixteen
weeks, fifteen hours per week, beginning April 27, 1987, and
terminating August 14, 1387.
3) The student will be assigned a specific project under
the supervision of the City, to wit: review and critique of the
Capital Improvements Element of the City Comprehensive Plan.
4) FAU recognizes its liability provided by Section 768.28
Florida Statutes, the State of Florida partial waiver of
sovereign immunity and to indemnify the City to the extent
permitted by that statute. ,

5) FAU agrees to allow an audit and inspection of its
books and records regarding the disbursement and expenditures
related to this agreement.
6) The City agrees to pay and compensate FAU the sum of
$3, 000. 00 for FAU's participation in this program.
7) Payment shall be made -by the City in two installments,
$1, 500. 00 on April 27, 1987, and $1, 500. 00 on June 2.2, 1.987.

8) The City agrees to Provide standard staff support for
the student during the internship including clerical assistance,
xeroxing, travel, etc.
9) The term of agreement shall be from April 27. 1987,
August 14, 1987. However, either party may terminate this
agreement at any time with (30) thirty days written notice,
appropriate financial adjustment.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have made and
executed this agreement on the respective dates under each
signature.
