CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-87- 15-6
A RESOLUTION URGING THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE
TO REPEAL ITS APPROVAL OF A UNITED STATES
CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in 1976 the Florida Legislature adopted reso-
lutions requesting that the United States Congress.call a
Constitutional Convention; and
WHEREAS, many have become concerned the Constitutional
Convention will impair the rights that Americans have come to
deeply appreciate and respect; and
WHEREAS, Florida's approval of a constitutional conven-
tion was over ten (10) years ago; and
WHEREAS, any attempt to amend the United States Consti-
tution by a Constitutional Convention should be governed by
established convention rules and guidelines of procedure; and
WHEREAS, rules for a constitutional convention have not
yet been formulated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac
hereby urges the Florida Legislature to repeal its approval
of a United States Constitutional Convention.
SECTION 2: That the appropriate City Officials are
hereby authorized to forward a Certified copy of this resolu-
tion to the Broward County Legislative Delegation.

SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 1,3 day of 1987.
