CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-87--
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL
REFERENDUM ELECTION VOTING ON AN AMENDMENT TO
SECTION 4.02 OF THE CITY CHARTER PROVIDING THAT
8 COUNCIL MEMBERS CAN SUCCEED THEMSELVES FOR MORE
THAN ONE TERM; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
9 DATE.
10 WHEREAS, •a Special. Referendum Election was held on June
22 16, 1987, wherein the electorate was asked to Vote on an
22 amendment to the Charter of the City of Tamarac; and
13 WHEREAS, the County Canvassing board has canvassed the
14 results of the machine voting and absentee ballots and has
25 certified such results to the City Clerk of the City of
16 Tamarac; and
17 WHEREAS, the City Clerk has reviewed the certification
from the County Canvassing Board and has presented their
findings to the City Council for a formal Certification and
Declaration of the results.

21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

23 5 ECT10N 1: That the following is hereby certified and
24 declared as the official results of the public vote at the
25 Special Referendum Election of June 16, 1987, for the
proposed Charter Amendment:

27 An Amendment to the City Charter Section 4.02
providing that the Council members can
28
succeed themselves for more than one term.

,5ECTIQ 2: IT IS HEREBY DECLARED that this Amendment

33 to Charter Section 4.02 did not receive approval of a
94 majority of the voters, and shall not become a part of the
existing City Charter of the City of Tamarac, which was

adopted at the General Election held on March 9, 1976 and
36
subsequently amended.

CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW TAMARAC PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED ONE MILLION NINE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,900,000.00). FUNDS
TO BE PRIMARILY DERIVED FROM THE SALE OF THE EXISTING PUBLIC WORKS SITE.
