CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA

A RESOLUTION GRANTING AN EXCEPTION TO THE TAMARAC
SIGN CODE TO MCNEIL SIGNS, INCORPORATED FOR THE
INSTALLATION nF A -GROUND SIGN FOR HCA UNIVERSITY
HOSPITAL, 7201 NORTH UNIVERSITY DRIVE, TAMARAC,
FLORIDA• AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, HCA University Hospital is desirous of locating a ground sign in a
Public Right -of -Way at 7201 N. University Drive, Tamarac, Florida; and
WHEREAS, HCA University Hospital must have the permitted signage to designate
the location of the hospital in the interest of public safety.
WHEREAS, McNeil Signs, Pompano Beach, Florida has submitted an application for the
Proposed sign, following proper procedure, to the Planning Commission of the City of
Tamarac, Florida; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 21-12 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Tamarac, the City Council may grant exceptions from the requirements of the Sign Code; and
WHEREAS, the owners/petitioners have filed all necessary fees, forms, and petitions;
and
WHEREAS, the owners/petitioners must obtain written approval from the Department of
Transportation to install the sign in the public right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, the appropriate Staff supports the request of the owner based on the
above recited facts.
Nnw, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED -BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the exception to the Sign Code which would allow for installation
of the sign as depicted on the plan prepared by Darby and Way dated 6/15/87, is
hereby granted subject to -the owners/petitioners obtaining written approval
from the Department of Transportation to install the sign in the public right -
of way.
SECT_ ION 2: The City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida hereby acknowledges
it to be in the interest of public safety to permit the sign to be located in the public
right-of-way.
SECT,- NN 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
