CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-87- !EE%�5_
A RESOLUTION DIRECTED TO THE BROWARD COUNTY BOARD
OF COMMISSIONERS AND THE BROWARD COUNTY MASS
TRANSIT AUTHORITY REQUESTING THE COUNTY REVIEW THE
PRESENT FRANCHISING SYSTEM FOR BUS SERVICE AND
OTHER PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO FORT LAUDERDALE
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND TO PROVIDE A PLAN WHICH
WOULD PROVIDE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SUCH AS BUS
SERVICE TO FORT LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
FROM VARIOUS POINTS WITHIN BROWARD COUNTY; AND
- P$ VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida, has received numerous requests from its citizens to
'encourage the Broward County Board of Commissioner6 and the
Broward County Mass Transit Authority to review the present
franchising of transportation available to Fort Lauderdale
International Airport and requesting that more extensive
public transportation be provided for transportation to and
from the Fort Lauderdale International Airport from various
points in Broward County, including the use of public trans-
portation services; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of
Tamarac, to have this issue addressed by the Broward League
Of Cities as well as all other cities located in Broward
County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Tamarac deems it in the
best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of
Tamarac, to request such public transportation to the Fort
Lauderdale International Airport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
CTI 1: That the City Council of Tamarac hereby
respectfully requests the Broward County Board of Commis-
sioners and the Broward County Mass Transportation Authority
to review its present franchising system and that it make
itself aware of the abuses of said system by the current
franchise, so that an equitable plan to provide public trans-
portation services to the Fort Lauderdale International
Airport from all parts of Broward County, Florida, can be
developed including the use of county public transportation.

SECTION 2: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
forward this resolution to the Broward County Board of
Commissioners, the Broward County Mass Transit Authority, the
Broward League of Cities, and all cities of Broward County,
Florida.
ECTI N 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
