CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-87-�
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING BROWARD COUNTY AS THE SITE
OF "THE BREEDER'S CUP" IN 1989; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac con-
stantly seeks to promote tourism in the City and generally in
Broward County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City
Council that The Breeder's Cup, Ltd., which annually hosts
The Breeder's Cup Event is considering hosting The Breeder's
Cup in Broward County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is very interested in having
Broward County, Florida, be selected as the site for The
Breeder's Cup in 1989; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the great value to
tourism in Tamarac and Broward County if said Event is held
within Broward County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes the Event will have
tremendous community support within Tamarac and Broward
County; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to communicate to The
Breeder's Cup, Ltd., its interest in having the County serve
as the site of The Breeder's Cup in 1989.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
.SECT�I0N 11: That the City Council hereby recognizes the
great value to tourism in having the County selected as the
site of The Breeder's Cup in 1989 and wishes to inform The
Breeder's Cup, Ltd., of its interest in the Event.
SECTION 2: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
provide a copy of this Resolution to The Breeder's Cup, Ltd.,
to encourage the selection of the County as the site of this
Event.

,SECTION_ 3:_ That the City Council hereby declares its
support of the community's efforts in seeking to have the
County serve as the site of The Breeder's Cup in 1989 and
hereby encourages community participation.
SECTI N 4: This resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this day of
1987.
