R-87-,3--3CO A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDED ARTICLES 1, 7, 15 AND 27 OF THE AGREEMENT WITH THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS (IAFF), LOCAL 2600; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE_ DATE. -------- -- WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac and the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF), Local 2600, are desirous of amending Articles 1, 7, 15 and 27 of that Agreement dated January 20, 1987, for the period October 1, 1986, through September 30, 1988. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: EECTION_1_ That amended Articles 1, 7, 15 and 27 of that certain agreement dated January 20, 1987, are hereby approved, copies of which are attached hereto. O �-33 o �1 r1 9 ARTICLE_1 AGREEMENT 1.1 This Agreement is entered into by Tamarac, Florida, hereinafter referred to as the "City" and Local 2600 of the International Association of Firefighters hereinafter referred to as the "Union". It is the purpose of this Agreement to promote harmonious relations between the City and its employees and to establish an orderly and peaceful procedure in the settlement of differences which might arise and to provide for joint collective bargaining in the determination of wages, hours, and other conditions of employment of employees covered by this Agreement. 1.2 The City of Tamarac would voluntarily recognize the change from Local 2600 to Local 3080 of the International Association of Firefighters (I.A.F.F.) at the time the I.A.F.F. officially makes the change. 90 WAGES/PAY SCALE 7.1 Effective October 1, 1986, all I.A.F.F. Bargaining JnIt employees will receive no Increase. ;v 7.2 A new pay plan will be Instituted on October 1, 1985 to reflect )resent "A" step to become the rate of pay for new employees O L . A new "H" step will be added t reflect in additional five --percent (5%) to the pay plan. 7.3 Effective April 1, 1987, all I.A.F.F. Bargaining Unit eniployees except probationary employees (See ARTICLE 27 PROBATIONARY PER / MPLOYEE (New Hire), shall receive a five percent (5%) career step Increase and move one (1) step on the pay plan. 7.4 Effective October 1, 1987, all I.A.F.F. Bargaining Un employees, except probationary employees (See ARTICLE 27 PR BA 1 NARY PERIOD/EMPLOYEE (New Hire), will receive a four percent (4%) cireer step Increase and move one (1) step on the pay plan, except "H" to 0 employees shall receive a five percent (5%) Increase and re al Lin step and "G" step employees shall receive a five -percent (5%) ingre�j� and remain between steps. 7.5 Effective April 1, 1988, all I.A.F.F. Bargaining U It except probationary employees (See ARTICLE 27-PROBATIONARY FER EMPLOYEE (New Hire), will receive a two percent (2%) increa e. -10- 0 Ioyees, LJ ARTICLC_15 MEDICAL COVERAGE PROGRAM 15.1 The City shall pay 100% of the premium for the employee after ninety (90) calendar days of employment. 15.2 If the employee desires dependent coverage, it will be subsidized by the City at the City's contribution rate ($41.79) in effect at the time of execution of this contract. 15.3 The City has the right to select and change health insurance companies in its sole and exclusive discretion. Such decision shall not be subject to the GRIEVANCE/ARBITRATION procedure. 15.4 The City is self -insured for traditional medical coverage. HealthAmerica, a Federally qualified health maintenance organization (HMO), is the alternative provider. All benefits provided effective October 1, 1986 shall be maintained during this contract with no reductions. 15.5 Effective October 1, 1987, Cigna Healthplan of South Florida, Inc., a Federally qualified health maintenance organization (HMO), is the alternative provider. All benefits provided effective October 1, 1987 shall be maintained during this contract with no reductions for the duration of this contract through September 30, 1988. 9".1 Ye�o I F7-" e) ARTICLE 27 PROBATIONARY PERIOD/EMPLOYEES (NEW HIRE) 27.1 The probationary period for all new employees shall one year rom the date of employment as a Firefighter.
