DESCRIPTION
7 RECONDITION SEVEN (7) C-14 CANAL PUMPS
The City of Tamarac is requesting bids
to rebuild seven pumps located on the C-14
Canal. These are to be completed one at
a time as weather -conditions permit, and
with approval of the Director of Public
Works.
T
A time frame for the completion of each
pump will be necessary as soon as possible
after removal from the canal. The sequence
for rebuilding will be arrived at by the
Public Works Department in conjunction with
the vendor.
The pumps are:
M & W Iron Works, Inc. pumps'of the angle
configuration with twisted belt drive and
inverted scoop intake bell. The model
number is AC336. Three of the seven have
an electric motor in conjunction with the
propane engine for emergency use. These
pumps were originally rated at 35,000 GPM,
14 foot head, at 469 RPM.
A flow test will be required of each pump
upon re -installation to check for proper
operation.
The price quoted for this project is to
stay in effect for one calendar year.
Pump work to consist of, but not be limited
to:
1) Removal from canal
2) Covering the opening if necessary to
eliminate runback

gaskets throughout the assembly.
7) Clean enclosed tube of all oils and
greases, and refill.with fresh
lubricants.
8) Repair all welds throughout the
assembly. '
9) Repair all rust out which has
occurred in the outer shell of
each pump.
