RESOLUTION NO. R-87 ,.
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A BID FOR TUW - WASTEWATER
TREATMENT PLANT SALVAGE AND CLOSURE, BID NO.
88-41 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, bids were advertised in the Fort Lauderdale
News/Sun Sentinel, a newspaper of general circulation in
Broward County on Friday, October 16, 1987 and Friday,
October 23, 1987; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on Tuesday, November 3, 1987;
and
WHEREAS, Ken Ann and Sons is the lowest and fully
responsive and responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the bid of Ken Ann and Sons, in the
amount of $78, 000.00 for the TUW - Wastewater Treatment
Plant Salvage and Closure with funds to be taken from Account
#434-393-535-6PG, titled TUW STP Closure, is HEREBY APPROVED.
SECTION 2: That the appropriate City officials are
hereby authorized to execute any and all contract documents
necessary in connection with awarding of this bid:'
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.

number of calendar days specified in the Supplemental
General Conditions from the date of official notification

relating to the above entitled matter and the work, and

Z,";. The award of the Contract(s), if awarded, will be to the
lowest qualified bidder(s) whose proposal complies with all
the requirements necessary to render it formal. The lowest
bidder(s) will be the bidder(s) with the lowest project
total under Alternative Bid No. 2 or the highest total
under Alternative Bid No. l deemed to be in the best
interest of the Owner.
24. In general, no answer will be given to prospective bidders
In reply to an oral question if the question involves an
interpretation of the intent or meaning of the Drawings or
other Contract Documents, or the equality or use of
products or methods other than those designated or
described on the Drawings or in the Specifications. Any
information given to Bidders other than by means of the
Drawings and other Contract Documents, including Addenda,
as described below, is given informally, for information
and the convenience of the Bidder only and is not
guaranteed. The Bidder agrees that such information shall
not be used as the basis of, nor shall the giving of any
such information entitle the Bidder to assert any claim or
demand against the Owner or the Engineer on account thereof.
To receive consideration, such questions shall be submitted
in writing to the Engineer at least ten (10) days before -
the established date for receipt of Bids. If the question
involves the quality or use of products or methods, it must
be accompanied by drawings, specifications, or other data
in sufficient detail to enable the Engineer to determine
the equality or suitability of the product or method. In
general, the Engineer will neither approve nor disapprove
particular products prior to the opening of Bids; such
products will be considered when offered by the Contractor
for incorporation into the work.
When questions raised are deemed appropriate by the
Engineer, they shall be answered in the form of Addenda.
The Addenda shall become part of the Contract Documents.
The Contractor agrees to use the products and methods
designed or described in the Specifications and as amended
by Addenda. Prior to the receipt of Bids, the Engineer
will mail out a copy of these Addenda to those known to
have taken out Contract Documents.
26. To render a bid formal, the Bidder's Proposal must be
completed in its entirety.
