CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R--87--J/'70
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION
OF HIALEAH RACE TRACK TO BE AWARDED THE
SECOND PERIOD OF THE WINTER THOROUGHBRED
RACING SEASON IN 1988/89 BY THE FLORIDA
PARI-MUTUEL COMMISSION; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Citv of Hialeah is a sister Municipality in
the State of Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City of Hialeah is the home of Hialeah Race
Track, world renowned for its beauty and excellent quality of
thoroughbred racing; and
WHEREAS, Hialeah Race Track bring International esteem
to all of South Florida and attracts thousands of people from
all over the United States and the World at large; and
WHEREAS, the people of the City of Hialeah and the
people of all South Florida Municipalities share in the
economic benefits generated by Hialeah Race Track; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of all the people of
South Florida and the entire State of Florida to help Hialeah
Race Track continue to remain economically sound for the
benefit of the Florida Thoroughbred Racing Industry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of
Tamarac does hereby support the application of Hialeah Race
Track to be awarded the second period of the Winter Thorough-
bred Racing season in 1988-89 by the Florida Pa ri-Mutuel
Commission.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption. q-ot",
