CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-87-
A RESOLUTION URGING THE PLACEMENT OF A MIDDLE
SCHOOL WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC; PROVIDING FOR THE CITY CLERK
TO SEND A COPY OF THE RESOLUTION TO FALL
APPROPRIATE OFFICIALS; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is developing a large area
of light industry and office buildings which is attracting
younger residents to the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide schools for the
children of the younger residents; and
WHEREAS, currently Tamarac's children who are of middle
school age now have to travel to other cities to attend
school; and
WHEREAS, many of the children now attending Tamarac
Elementary School are reaching middle school age.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA.
SECTION 1: That the Broward County School Board
seriously consider placing a Middle School within the corpor-
ate limits of the City of Tamarac, Florida.
SECTION 2: That the City Council hereby requests the
assistance and cooperation of the elected and appointed
Officials who receive a copy of this Resolution to assist in
this endeavor.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to
forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the State
Commissioner of Education, to all State Senators and Repre-
sentatives representing the City of Tamarac, the Broward
County Board of County Commissioners and to.all members of
the Broward County School Board.

SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
