R-87-_L,:;�-- A RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL FEES; PROVIDING FOR A POLICY OF ALLEVIATING THE SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL FEE CURRENTLY FOUND ON RESIDENTS UTILITIES BILLS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the vast majority residents of the City of Tamarac are on fixed incomes or are raising families; and WHEREAS, the residents are currently required to provide for a solid waste disposal fee submitted to them on their utility bills; and WHEREAS, solid waste disposal collection serves a vital public interest and protects the public health, safety and welfare; and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has sufficient fund balance to alleviate the burden of a solid waste disposal fee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the City Manager and Finance Director of the City of Tamarac are hereby directed to establish and implement a policy of alleviating the solid waste disposal fee currently found on residents Utility bills. SECTION 2: This policy should be implemented in order that its effective date shall be no later than April 11_-_1987. SECTION 3: That the City Manager shall report to Mayor and Council as to the status of this policy on a regular basis in order to determine whether or not said policy needs to be amended, extended, or repealed in a timely manner. SECTION 4: All resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict. -1- Temp. Ord. #4510 SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
