CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R--87- /cT-
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO APPOINT
A FIVE (5) MEMBER COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE
THE FEASIBILITY OF ESTABLISHING A CHILDRENS
RECREATION CENTER TO BE LOCATED IN OR NEAR
THE SUNFLOWER/HEATHGATE DEVELOPMENT;
PROVIDING FOR DUTIES; PROVIDING FOR A
REPORTING DATE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the vast majority of the children who reside in
the City of Tamarac live in the Sunflower/Heathgate Develop-
ment; and
WHEREAS, it would promote the public health, safety and
welfare to have a recreation center to be used by the
children near their place of residence; and
WHEREAS, recreation centers play an important role in
the social and educational development of children.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the Mayor shall appoint a five (5)
member committee to investigate the feasibility of establish-
ing a recreation center in or near the Sunflower/Heathgate
Development.
SECTION 2: The Mayor shall make said appointments at an
open public council meeting. The appointed committee shall
file a final report with the City Council no later than six
(6) months from the date that this Resolution is adopted.
SECTION 3: That the committee shall investigate all
aspects of establishing a recreation center in or near the
Sunflower/Heathgate Development.
SECTION 4: That the committee shall determine a
schedule for regular meetings that shall be open to the
public pursuant to the laws of the State of Florida.

SECTION 5: The appointed committee shall elect its own
Chairman and establish its own rules and procedures.
SECTION 6: That the committee shall cease to exist upon
submission of its final report.
SECTION 7: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
