RESOLUTION NO. R-87--
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF
THE GENERAL ELECTION VOTING ON AN AMEND-
MENT TO SUBSECTION 4.06(a) OF THE CITY
CHARTER; PROVIDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL
SHALL DETERMINE THE FOUR (4) WEEK PERIOD
IN WHICH IT IS NOT TO MEET AS OPPOSED TO
NOT MEETING IN AUGUST AS CURRENTLY REQUIRED,
SHALL BE INCORPORATED INTO THE CITY CHARTER;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE,
WHEREAS, a General Election was held on March 10, 1987,
wherein the electorate was asked to vote on an amendment to
the Charter of the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the County Canvassing Board has canvassed the
results of the machine voting and absentee ballots and has
certified such results to the City Clerk of the City of
Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has reviewed the certification
from the County Canvassing Board and has presented their
findings to the City Council for a formal Certification and
Declaration of the results.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SEETIQN 1: That the following is hereby certified and
declared as the official results of the public vote at the
General Election of March 10, 1987, for the proposed Charter
Amendment:
An Amendment to the City
• Charter Subsection 4.06(a)
providing that the City Council
shall determine the four week
period in which it is not to
meet as opposed to not meeting
in August as currently
required.

SECTION 2: IT IS HEREBY DECLARED that this Amendment
(amending Charter Section 4.06(a)), having received approval
of a majority of the voters, shall become a part of the
existing City Charter of the City of Tamarac, which was
adopted at the General Election held on March 9, 1976 and
subsequently amended.
E TI 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.
