CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R--86- ISM-2 -
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING RETENTION OF
FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Federal. Revenue Sharing Program has been
recommended for elimination from the fiscal year 1987 budget by
the President; and
WHEREAS, the President's budget also recommends a recis-
sion of the last fiscal year 1986 payment to local governments;
and
WHEREAS, the elimination of Federal Revenue Sharing
would result in a $6.6 million loss of funding for Mass Transit
which is 25 percent of the total operating budget; and
WHEREAS, local government programs have already been
reduced by 81 percent; and
WHEREAS, The elimination of Federal Revenue Sharing
would adversely affect Broward County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARACK FLORIDA
SEST,ION 1: That the City Council does hereby support
the retention of Federal Revenue Sharing, and hereby directs
that the City Clerk transmit a copy of this resolution to the
Broward League of Cities, all municipalities, and the Broward
Congressional Delegation.
