CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-86--/-J-2---�
A RESOLUTION REPEALING RESOLUTION R-85-254;
PROVIDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL NO LONGER
INTENDS TO FORM A SISTER CITY RELATIONSHIP
WITH THE CITY OF GIVATAYIM, ISRAEL; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE PM-,.-.—._—
WHEREAS, the City of Givatayim, Israel had exprI§ssed an
interest in hosting a Sister City A-ccord signing ceremony
during a November, 1985 tour to Israel by Tamarac residents,
and
WHEREAS, said Accord signing ceremony did not mate-
rialize.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
BCIIQN 1: That Resolution No. R-85-254, a copy of
which is attached as Exhibit "A", and incorporated by
reference herein is repealed.
,S1-�OTIQN 2: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon passage.

RESOLUTION NO. R-85-m2-51
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE CITY COUNCIL'S
INTENT TO AUTHORIZE THE FORMATION OF' A SISTER
CITY RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CITY OF GIVATAYIM,
ISRAEL; REPEALING RESOLUTIONS R-84-405 AND
R-85-39 CONCERNING THE SISTER CITY ACCORD AND
TRIP To KIRYAT TIVON; AND PROVIDING. AN
WHEREAS, the Mayor of Kiryat Tivon has indicated that he
will be unavailable to host a sister city accord signing
ceremony during the November 1985 tour to Israel by Tamarac
residents.
WHEREAS, communications have been initiated between
Tamarac and the City of Givatayim, Israel, wherein their
Mayor, Itzhack Yaron, has expressed his city's desire to
establish a sister city relationship with Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, a large group of Tamarac residents will be
travelling to Israel in November; and
WHEREASt Mayor Yaron has indicated that his city would
be pleased to host the Tamarac group during its tour, with a
sister city accord signing ceremony.
NOW, THEREFOREr BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
TAMARACj FLORIDA:
$ECTION.-l: That the City Council authorizes the Mayor
and Commissioner of Human Relations to finalize arrangements
with the City of Givatayim in Israel for the establishment of
a sister city relationship with Givatayim and a sister city
accord signing ceremony during the November Tamarac tour to
Israel.
,SECTION 2: That a specific date for the sister city
signing ceremony at Givatayim should be set as soon as
possible in order to inform those persons who may wish to
attend but will not be part of the Tamarac tour.
SECT ON J: That Resolutions R-84-405 and R-85-39r
establishing the sister city relationship with Kiryat Tivon,
are hereby repealed.
