CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-86-
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 86-96
REGARDING A CONTRACT WITH THE BROWARD
SHERIFF'S OFFICE TO PROVIDE FOR MAILING OF
CONTRACT SUMMARY TO REGISTERED ELECTORS
INSTEAD OF TO RESIDENTS; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has directed the City Manager,
Acting City Attorney and Police Chief to negotiate a contract
with the Broward Sheriff's Office for consideration by the City
Council and approval by the electorate.
WHEREAS, the Council desires the proposed contract summary
be mailed to the registered electors instead of to all resi-
dents of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
_ECTION 1: That Section 4 of Resolution #86-96 is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 4: That prior to any referendum, the City shall
provide a summary of the provisions of the proposed con-
tract to the <-res4dents> registered electors. This
summary will be sent to each <Ees4dent> registered
elector by United States mail at least fourteen (14)
days prior to the referendum election."
SECTION 2: That Resolution 86-96 is hereby ratified in
all respects not in conflict with the provisions herein.
SECTION 3: This resolution shall become effective imme-
diately upon adoption.
