CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-86-228
A RESOLUTION URGING THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY TO ADOPT
FEDERAL ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
STANDARDS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PRO-
POSED RESOURCE RECOVERY PLANT AND FURTHER,
TO DESIGN SAID FACILITY UTILITIZING STATE
OF THE ART EQUIPMENT IN ORDER TO INSURE
THE PROTECTION OF THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND
WELFARE OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC AND THAT NO ADVERSE ENVIRONMENTAL
IMPACT WILL OCCUR; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has deter-
mined that the construction of the proposed Resource Recovery
Plant should take place in a location in close proximity to
the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the
health, safety and welfare of the residents will be best
served by Broward County's use of the most modern methods
possible in the construction of the Resource Recovery Plant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTIQN 1:. That the City Council hereby urges the Board
of County Commissioners of Broward County to adopt Federal
Environmental Protection Agency standards in the construction
of the proposed Resource Recovery Plant and further, design
said facility to include state of the art equipment in order
to insure the protection of the health, safety and welfare of
the residents of Tamarac and that the plant does not create
any adverse environmental impact on the surrounding
communities.
,SECTION 2: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
transmit.a copy of this Resolution to the Cities which com-
prise the Northwest Council of Mayors.

SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon passage.
