CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-86-23
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING CITY
STAFF AND CONSULTANTS TO NEGOTIATE A PRO-
POSAL FOR CITY COUNCIL REVIEW WHICH WOULD
PROVIDE FOR BROWARD COUNTY TO TREAT.THE
WASTEWATER FROM THE TAMARAC UTILITIES WEST
SERVICE AREA, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, Williams Hatfield and Stoner, Inc., Consulting
Engineers has completed a cost evaluation report for waste-
water treatment and disposal for the City of Tamarac,
weighing the pros and cons of the City maintaining its own
treatment plant versus entering into a large user agreement
with the County to provide the service; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to implement the
proposal recommendation which shows advantages with having
the wastewater treated by the County, provided that the
various Government Agencies can reach an agreement as to the
terms and conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
S=ON_l: That the City Manager, City Attorney and
Utility Director are authorized and directed to meet with the
representatives of the necessary Governmental Agencies in
order to compile a proposal for City Council consideration
which would provide for the treatment and disposal of waste-
water from the service are of Tamarac Utilities West by
Broward County.
SECTIQ_2: That the City Staff is authorized to request
the assistance of the City's Engineering and Legal
Consultants in the preparation of the proposal for City
Council.
,JE_QTIQ _ : That this Resolution shall become effec-
tive upon its adoption.
