RESOLUTION NO. R-86--297/
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING A PROPOSED CONVENTION
CENTER STTE IN THE CT'.l.'Y OF TAMARAC AND RECOM-
MENDING THAT STTE TO THE TOURIST DEVELOPMENT
COUNCIL (TDC) 01,'13ROWARD COUNTY FOR SERTOUS
CONSIDERATION; PROVTD.TNG AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is supportive of the effort of
the Tourist Development Council. to secure a convention center for
Broward County; and
WHEREAS, there is available within t-he City of Tamarac a
250,000± square foot structurc on a thirty-eight acre parcel of land;
and

WHEREAS, the owners of t-hat structure and land have solicited.
the support of the City of Tamarac for this endeavor; and
- WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac strongly supports the prospective
use of this structure and land for a convention center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED 13Y THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: To endorse the 38 acre Sawgrass Industrial Park
as a site for a major convenLiion center in Broward County.
SECTTON 2: To cooperatively work with the owners of that
site and structure in this endeavor.
SECTION 3: To enthusiastically recommend this proposal.to
Ithe Tourist Development Council of Broward County for serious consi,d-

27 upon its passage.
