A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE A HOLD
HARMLESS AGREEMENT WITH THE BROWARD COUNTY
SHERIFF'S OFFICE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DAT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION_1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac
hereby approves a Hold Harmless Agreement between the
City of Tamarac and the Broward County Sheriff's Office,
attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A";

,TTON. That the appropriate City officials are
hereby authorized to execute said Hold Harmless Agreement;

immediately upon its passage.

EXHIBIT A
HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
This Agreement entered into on the day of
1986 was made by and between the City of Tamarac,
a municipal corporation, hereinafter "CITY" and the Broward
County Sheriff's Office, hereinafter "BSO".
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac has
determined that a program designed to make all citizens of
Tamarac more aware of safety and security precautions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has declared that such a
program serves a valid and important public interest; and
WHEREAS, Broward County Sheriff's Office has voluntarily
offered its services in performing numerous demonstrations
• regarding Tamarac Security Awareness Week on City property;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac deter-
mines the said participation on the part of the Broward
County Sherif"f's Office is of great public importance.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the sum of one dollar
($1.00) and other good and valuable consideration received
from the Broward County Sheriff's Office, and in considera-
tion of the mutual covenants contained herein, the party
agrees as follows:
SECTION 1: That BSO shall hold CITY harmless from any
and all claims, clauses of action, damages, costs, expenses
and attorney fees which the CITY shall suffer by virtue of
the defense of, or response to, any claim being mare against
it in connection with the dem.,onstrations performed by BSO
hereunder, or any act or ommission of the BSO its agents,
employees, members, or the general public in connection
therewith.
E T 3 The CITY shall hold BSO harmless from any

and all claims, causes of action, damages, costs, expenses
and attorney fees which BSO shall suffer by virtue of the
defense of, or response to, any claim being made against it
in connection with the Tamarac Security Awarness program
which resulted from the conduct of any CITY employees or
agents thereof.
E The above provisions shall survive the
termination of this Agreement and shall pertain to any
occurrence during the terzi of this Agreement, even though the
claim may be mare against the termination hereof.
E T BSO shall provide to the City Risk Manager
Certificates of Insurance in such for: in amounts as requires:
by the City Risk 14anager.

SECTION 5: BSO shall keep such policies of insurance in
full force and effect during the term of this Agreement anu
shall provide to the City proof of payment of the required
premiums.
EC�T ON E: BSO shall provide the Risk Manager with the
requisite document evidencing that the signatory for the BSO
has the authority to enter into this Agreement.
EtCTI—ON----7: This Agreement shall not be assigned by BSO
without receiving City Council approval.
