CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-86-31?9
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
STAFF TO TAKE THE APPROPRIATE ACTION PERTAIN-
ING TO A LETTER OF AGREEMENT AND THE "HOLD
HARMLESS STATEMENT" FROM THE SOUTH BRQWARD
WHEELERS, INC. FOR THE BICYCLE RACE TO BE
HELD ON NOVEMBER 22, 1986; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECT --
WHEREAS, the appropriate City staff has approved the
concept of a bicycle race promoted by the South Broward
Wheelers, Inc. on November 22, 1986; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Tamarac
will assist the Broward Sheriff's Office during the road
race; and
WHEREAS, the South Broward Wheelers, Inc. has agreed to
hold the City of Tamarac harmless as evidenced by Exhibit
"A", attached hereto and made a part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTIQN__1_: That the appropriate City staff is hereby
authorized to execute the Letter of Agreement, attached
hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "B".
SECTION _2: That the City Clerk shall ensure that the
"Release of All Claims", attached hereto and made a part
hereof as Exhibit "A" shall be properly filed. -
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.

Know all men by these presents, that the South Broward
Wheelers, Inc. (referred to here as "promoters") acquits and
discharges and holds harmless the City of Tamarac, their
heirs, administrators, successors, assigns, employees,
agents, representatives and all other persons, partnerships,
firms or corporations of and from any and all accidents or
matters and especially an accident to any other person; com-
petitors or otherwise, and will hold harmless and defend the
City of Tamarac from any third party claims, during the
Bicycle Race to be held on 11/22/86 on or about their pre-
mises in Broward County, Florida. Additionally promoter
agrees to obtain general liability insurance with total
liability insurance with total limit of at least one million
_ dollars.

To Whom It May Concern:
The Police Department of the City of Tamarac has been advised of
the proposed routing of the bicycle race to be held on 11/22/86,
known as the "Race to the Fair", promoted by the South Broward
Wheelers, Inc.; a Not -For -Profit Florida Corporation.
Said race will travel through the City of Tamarac as per maps
submitted to the City of Tamarac Police Department.
The Police Department of the City of Tamarac will assist the
Broward Sheriff's Office by providing off -duty or on -duty
officers at certain intersections as per the agreement with the
South Broward Wheelers, organizers of the "Race to the Fair".
The "Race to the Fair" and the South Broward Wheelers, Inc. have
provided the City of Tamarac with the necessary Certificate of
Insurance and "Release and Hold Harmless" agreement, as
requested.
