CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R- FL3 ?
A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE CITY CLEW, TO SEND
COPIES OF CHARTER A11 NDM[NrS TO THE SECRETARY
OF STATE AND THE PUBLISHER OF THE CITY CODE;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Florida Statutes Subsection 166.031(2) regarding "Charter
Amendments" provides:
11(2) Upon adoption of an amendment to the charter
of a municipality by a majority of the electors
voting in a referendum upon such amendment, the
governing body of said municipality shall have
the amendment incorporated into the charter and
shall file the revised charter with the Depart-
ment of State, at which time the revised
charter shall take effect." and
W1JI AS, the City Council wishes to specify its past practice and
clarify its intentions to carry out the statutory responsibility; and
WIIEREAS, the City Clerk is ..."the official custodian of all city
records and papers of an official character..." pursuant to Section 10.02 of
the City Charter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That no later than five (5) working days after the
certification by the City Council of election results following a referendum
amending; the City Charter, the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to send to the Secretary of State and the City Code publisher (for codification)
a copy of the Charter amendment.and the certified results of the election.
SECTION 2: That within five (5) working; days after receipt by the
City Clerk of a supplement codifying a Charter amendment, the City Clerk is
authorized and directed to send to the Secretary of State a copy of the
codification of the Charter amendment.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk is directed to send copies of any
transmittal letters, sent pursuant to Sections 1 and 2... above, to the City
Council, City Manager, City Attorney and the Charter Board Members.
SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this day of 1986.
