CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO: R-86_7 .
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC OPPOSING THE
FORCED DE -ANNEXATION OF ANY OF THE LANDS WITHIN
THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC AND THEIR
ANNEXATION INTO ANY OTHER INCORPORATED MUNICIPALITY;
PROVIDING FOR THE DELIVERY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO
ALL MEMBERS OF THE BROWARD LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION
AND THE MEMBERS OF THE BROWARD COUNTY OOMMISSION
AND APPROPRIATE OFFICIALS OF THE BROWARD COUNTY
LEAGUE OF CITIES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Broward County Legislative Delegation or individual
members of the Broward County Legislative Delegation have made proposals for an
annexation plan in Broward County which may affect lands within the City of
Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, those lands which are the subject of this proposal were the
original incorporated lands of the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, this proposal has not been discussed with the City Council of
the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac finds such proposal
violates a sense of fair play and a citizens right to determine where he/she
shall reside.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac hereby
vigorously objects to any proposal de -annexing lands within the municipal
boundary of the City of Tamarac.
SECTION 2: That any attempt at such de -annexing should only occur
after an affirmative vote in favor of de -annexation by those electors residing
in the affected areas at a referendum election.

SECTION 3: That no such de -annexation occur without the approval of
the City Council of the City of Tamarac.
SECTION 4: That a copy of this Resolution properly executed shall be
delivered to each member of the Broward County Legislative Delegation, the
Broward County Conmission and appropriate officials of the Broward County League
of Cities.
SECTION 5: That this Resolution shall became effective immediately
upon adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this day of 1986.
