CITY OF TAMARAC
RESOLUTION NO. R-84- �.
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
BOND ELECTION TO AUTHORIZE $8,000,000 IN
GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PLANNING, CONSTRUCTING, FURNISHING AND
EQUIPPING ANEW CITY HALL AND POLICE STATION
AND ESTABLISHING THE SITE FOR SAID BUILDINGS.
WHEREAS, a Bond election was held on March 13, 1984, on
the following questions:
"Shall bonds of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed
$8,000,000 be issued as may be needed to
provide capital improvement funds which
together with other available funds, will be
used for planning, constructing, furnishing
and equipping a new City Hall and a new Police
Station, such bonds to mature at such time(s)
not exceeding forty (40) years from their
date(s) as may be determined by the City
Council, and to bear interest at rates not to
exceed the maximum rate then permitted by law,
and to be a general obligation of the City
payable from ad valorem taxes or any other
legally available funds of the City of
Tamarac?

AGAINST BONDS
If the bond issue is approved, shall the site
for a City Hall and Police Station be:
SITE A
located on the west side of N.W. 88th Avenue
in the 7500 block on a tract of land
consisting of 14.52 acres owned by the City
located just north of Tamarac Fire Station
which site would replace the Commercial
Boulevard site designated in the 1974
referendum?
OR
SITE B
Located on the tract of land consisting of
10.8 acres owned by the City on the north side
of Commercial Boulevard between N.W. 88th
Avenue on the West and N.W. 84th Terrace on
the East?

WHEREAS, the City Council has announced the results of

the Votomatic voting as certified by the Election Board and
the absentee ballots;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
,SECTION 1: That the certified result of this bond
election was:
For Bonds 8746 Votes,
Against Bonds 3442 Votes.
FOR SITE A 8483 Votes,
FOR SITE B 2690 Votes.
SECTION 2 : That this Bond issue passed and Site A was
selected with the.approval of the majority of the voters
voting on these questions.
SECTIQN3 : That this Resolution becomes effective
immediately upon its passage.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED this day of
1984.
