RESOLUTION NO. R-84-442 o
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FIRST ADDENDUM
TO THE CONTRACT FOR RESIDENTIAL AND
CONDOMINIUM SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND
DISPOSAL WITH WASTE MANAGEMENT, INC., OF
FLORIDA; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the appropriate City official's are hereby
authorized to execute the First Addendum to the Contract for Residen-
tial and Condominium Solid Waste Collection and Disposal with Waste
Management, Inc., of Florida, a copy of said Addendum being attached
hereto as 'Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2: This resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

ADDENDUM TO CONTRACT FOR
SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL
THIS ADDENDUM is effective the 1st day of December 1984
and is made and entered into by and between the City of
Tamarac, a municipal corporation of the State of Florida, and
Waste Management Inc. of Florida, a Florida corporation.
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac herein referred to as
"City" and Waste Management Inc. of Florida herein referred
to as "Contractor" entered into a contract for solid waste
collection and disposal on October 18, 1984; and
WHEREAS, the parties to said contract have agreed to the
additional provisions contained herein; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has ratified this addendum at
its December 27, 1984 meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, for the mutual benefits and other con-
siderations recited herein, the parties agree as follows:
SECTION _ -I: All definitions contained in the original
contract shall apply in this addendum.
SECTION 2: That the following addenda are incorporated
into the Contract for Solid Waste Collection and Disposal
entered into by the parties:
a) That based on the increased costs for dumping
(tipping) incurred by Contractor from $16 per
ton to $22 per ton, the following revised
compensation schedule shall be in effect from

December 1, 1984 to exactly reflect that
increased cost:

b) That the religious houses of worship, having
facilities situated within the City shall be
entitled to one (1) waste collection pickup
per week collected from a two (2) cubic yard
dumpster at no charge for the service;
provided, however, that if any such religious
organization shall operate a school on the
premises of its facility, such school shall
obtain a separate dumpster with waste
collection service to be provided by
Contractor at the usual commercial rates; and
provided that Contractor is the only garbage
removal service servicing the premises; unless
otherwise agreed between the Contractor and
the religious organization.

houses of worship presently situated in the
City for purposes of this agreement:

c) That sideyard or rearyard waste collection
pickup be provided as a special service option
to curbside customers. Such option shall be
offered on an individual basis to the curbside
customer at a rate of two dollars ($2) per
unit per month. The customer shall make ar-
rangements with and payment directly to
Contractor, in advance, on a monthly basis.
The Contractor shall allow the customer to
prepay for up to one (1) year of such special
service at the same rate.
d) That the City acknowledges that Contractor's
service will be provided during a six (6) day
work week, i.e., Monday through Saturday
inclusive. It
Contractor agrees not to make any waste
collections on a Sunday except dumpster ser-
vice that may be specifically requested by
condominium customers.
OCTSON-.: In all other respects the contract between
the parties is ratified and unchanged.
