CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.R-84-_`DS
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE CITY COUNCIL'S
INTENTION TO ENCOURAGE INTERESTED TAMARAC
RESIDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN A GROUP TOUR TO
KIRYAT TIVON TO FINALIZE A SISTER CITY AGREE-

WHEREAS, Resolution 84-2 authorized the execution of a
memorandum of understanding between the City of Tamarac and
its sister city Kiryat Tivon in Israel; and
WHEREAS, such a memorandum of understanding was approved
on January 6, 1984.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC:
SECTION 1: That the City Council desires to promote the
sister city relationship between the citizens of Tamarac and
the citizens of Kiryat Tivon by encouraging a group tour of
Tamarac citizens to Israel in 1985.
SECTION 2: That the visit by the Tamarac residents is
for the purpose of facilitating a strong and impressive
contingent of citizens led by the Mayor or in his absence, a
representative selected by the City Council, to best
represent the City of Tamarac at any official cermonies that
may take place at Kiryat Tivon during the tour. That the
recommendation by the City will involve no outlay of City
funds whatsoever, and the City does not assume any
responsibility or liability for any aspects of the travel
arrangements.
SECTION 3: That all interested travel agents shall be
invited to. propose complete package tour arrangements for the
sister city tour at the December 27, 1984 Council meeting, or
as soon thereafter as possible, and after hearing and
considering all proposals the City Council shall select and
recommend the best proposal to become the tour arrangements
to be used by the Sister City Tour. However, such selected

package tour shall not be deemed to be an exclusive
arrangement between the City and the travel agent but is
solely for the purpose of convenience and cost -benefit that
such arrangement affords those desiring to participate in the
Sister.City tour; such considerations shall be equally shared
by all, including bonus trips.
SECTION4: That upon selection of the best package tour
the Sister City co -commissioners, together with the Mayor,
are hereby authorized to provide all necessary and desirable
help in coordinating all activities to promote participation
in the Sister City tour. These include: liaison between the
City, its citizens, and the chosen travel agent; advertising
and other promotional activities; and correspondence between
Tamarac and Kiryat Tivon concerning administrative details in
carrying out the City Councils plans and intentions.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
