CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. `?y= q
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE CITY COUNCIL
CHAMBERS AS THE PRIMARY LOCATION OF PUBLIC
MEETINGS; REQUIRING THE USE OF THE PUBLIC
ADDRESS SYSTEM; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, it is government's duty at every level to
make use of cost effective methods when available; and
WHEREAS, there exists a public address system in
the meeting chambers of city hall which can transmit any
meeting from chambers into the offices of the City Council,
City Manager, City Attorney and various department heads in
city hall as well as amplifies the meeting for the audience
in attendance and the occupants in the charter board office,
adjacent to the Chambers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA.
SECTION 1: That the City Council, the Charter
Board and all committees conducting meetings should use the
Meeting Chambers on the ground floor of City Hall whenever
possible as opposed to alternative locations. When such
meetings are conducted the public address system shall be in
operation.
SECTION 2: That the City Council recognizes that
this practice will allow the Council, the Charter Board and
the Staff to be more responsive to the meetings, to be more
punctual and better prepared and should aid in the orderly
conduct of business for the good of the City.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk is charged with the
responsibliity of coordinating the scheduling of the meeting
Chambers to maximize the use of the Chambers and avoid
conflicts in schedules whenever possible.
SECTION 4: That the. City Council Pre -Agenda
meeting shall be an exception to this rule since most of the

needed staff and elected officials are present, since the
meeting usually is short and since the Planning Commission
has traditionally used the Chambers on the first and third
Wednesdays of each month.
SECTIQN 5: That this Resolution shall become
effective immediately upon its passage.
