A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REJECTION OF
ALL BIDS RECEIVED FOR UMBRELLA INSURANCE
COVERAGE; AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
OFFICIALS TO ENTER INTO NEGOTIATIONS WITH
DESIGNATED INSURANCE AGENCIES; AND
AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT OF INSURANCE FOR
UMBRELLA COVERAGE AT A PREMIUM NOT TO
EXCEED $18,000.00 PER YEAR WITH A SELECTED -
AGENCY, AND DIRECTING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
_ OFFICIALS TO REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL
CONCERNING ALL ACTION TAKEN ON THE
INSURANCE CONTRACT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFE
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended for Council
action the rejection of all bids received for umbrella in-
surance coverage for the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS,.Tamarac City Code Section 9-37 empowers the
City Council to authorize negotiations for the supply of the
needed insurance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
I SECTION 1: That the City Council hereby rejects all
bids received for the supplying of umbrella insurance cover-
age to the City of Tamarac.
SECTION 2: That the City Council authorizes the
appropriate City Officials to enter into negotiations with
the following designated insurance agencies for the purpose
of supplying umbrella insurance coverage to the City of
Tamarac.
1) FRANK H. FURMAN INSURANCE AGENCY
2) PLACE FOR INSURANCE
3) FARBER INS. AGENCY

SECTION 3: That the City Council authorizes the appro-
priate City Officials to enter into a contract with an insur-
ance agency selected by those Officials for the supplying of
umbrella insurance coverage to the City of Tamarac. Said
contract shall be for a term of one (1) year for a maximum
coverage of ten million dollars ($10,000,000.00) and for a
premium not to exceed eighteen thousand dollars ($18,000.00)
per year.
SECTION 4: That the City Council directs the appro-
priate City Officials to report to Council concerning all
action taken on the above insurance.
SECTION 5 That this Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.
