A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE SAWGRASS-DEERFIELD EXPRESSWAY, THE USE OF CERTAIN RIGHTS -OF -WAY IN THE CITY OF TAMARAC AND AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF 1.45 ACRES OF CYPRESS COMMONS; AND PRS2Y..IP?�1Sz_�? WHEREAS, there exist certain rights -of -way in land section 6 in the City of Tamarac; and WHEREAS, the Sawgrass-Deerfield Expressway Author- ity, an agency of the State of Florida, has requested the City's endorsement of the use of these public rights -of -way for the construction of the Sawgrass- Deerfield Expressway; and WHEREAS, the Expressway Authority also needs a 1.45 acre tract of Cypress Commons, which is in the path of the Expressway and is owned by the City; and WHEREAS,..the Expressway should alleviate some of th traffic congestion in Broward County, will bring some growth to west Broward and is anticipated in the Tamarac Comprehensive Land Use Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: 5ZMQN__l: That the Tamarac City Council en- dorses the plan for the Sawgrass-Deerfield Expressway in West Broward County. 5. =N__2: That the City of Tamarac relinquishes any claim to use the existing rights -of -way described in Composite Exhibit A (attached to this resolution) in any way inconsistent with the Expressway plans. E T ON3 : That the City of Tamarac authorized .the City Staff to prepare the necessary documents to deed the 1.45 acres of Cypress Commons described in Exhibit B (attached to this resolution) under the following conditions: 1 -- That the six (6) lanes of Commercial Boulevard shall be included in Phase I construction so that when the Expressway opens, there will be six (6) lanes from NW 88 Avenue to the entrance, - and 2 - That landscaping shall be provided in the Cypress Creek Commons area. - 1 - UU Temp. #3272 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 13 14 15 18 19 20 -7 23 24 25 27 28 29 30 33 34 SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effec- tive immediately upon its adoption.
