CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R--
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING TTHE PROPER CITY
OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, AND THE CITY OF KIRYAT TIVON „ISRAEL;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Cities of Tamarac, Florida, U.S.A. and Kiryat Tivon,
Israel have established bonds of friendship between their governments and
their people; and
WHEREAS, the Cities desire to enter into an understanding to
strengthen that friendship and foster growth of mutual benefit and respect,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMPARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Council approves of the Sister -City
concept, a copy of which is attached as EXHIBIT A to this Resolution.
Section 2. That the proper city officials are authorized and
directed to execute this memorandum of understanding which shall be in full
force and effect once executed by the officials of both cities.
Section 3. That the Tamarac City Council embarks on this Sister -City
relationship with great hope in doing its part to bring two peoples, two cities
and two nations closer together by a better understanding of each other and of
their problems.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its final passage. ' ,

SISTER CITY MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
THIS MEMORANDUM made and entered into by and between:
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, U.S.A., a Municipal
Corporation organized under the laws of Florida,
hereinafter referred to as "TAMARAC"
and
THE CITY OF KIRYAT TIVON, ISRAEL, hereinafter
referred to as "TIVON"
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, TAMARAC AND TIVON desire to enter into an
understanding that will strengthen the existing bond of
friendship and to foster an exchange of ideas and cultures
between its citizens and governments for mutual awareness and
growt�-; and
WHEREAS, this mutual undertaking should lead to a better
understanding of each other's problems and way of life and
thereby advance the aim of friendship between nations, spec-
ifically between the people of the United States and Israel;
and
WHEREAS, the Tamarac Ity Council approved this memor-
andum at its meeting on - -- , 198 y_-

WHEREAS, the Tim City Council approved this memorandum
at its meeting on `,/ �.t���< , 1984;
NOW, THEREFORE IN CONSIDE TION OF THESE MUTUAL UNDER-
STANDINGS the parties hereby establish the following:
1. Tamarac and Tivon hereby declare to be Sister
Cities and they agree to establish and maintain a
relationship of mutual communication, awareness and
respect of each other and to encourage practical
ways of bringing their citizens closer together
including, but not limited to, mutual communi-
cations, visits by public officials and private

citizens, youth exchanges, and other joint activi-
ties.
2. Communication between Tamarac and Tivon should be
directed to the following parties and private
correspondents communicating in furtherance of this
understanding are urged to send copies of
communications to the following parties:

3. That this memorandum shall become effective upon
execution by the proper officials of both cities

and may be cancelled without cause by either party
sixty (60) days after written notice has been sent
by the cancelling party to the other party at the
address in paragraph 21 above.
